The spatial internet requires a fully reimagined approach to data, relationships, discovery, and navigation. We're building entirely new digital gateways, and we need a skilled backend developer to build alongside us. We are looking for someone who loves rolling up its sleeves and laying the foundation brick by brick of a consumer application that aims to be a cornerstone of tomorrow’s open metaverse.

What we're looking for

Lighthouse is looking for a highly polyvalent and qualified back-end developer to join the Index team in charge of building the connectors with the worlds. Your primary focus will be the design of the whole data processing pipeline from the connector up to the index going through APIs and data processing services. You’ll own the development of all server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front end.

Responsibilities

• Strong ownership of the full back-end stack - from design through to deployment and beyond
• Defining the API with the front-end
• Monitoring and improving data processing
• Design, develop and implement large-scale distributed systems with large volumes of data, focusing on scalability, latency, and fault-tolerance
• Working in a small, collaborative team of software engineers, designers and product managers in an Agile environment to understand requirements, estimate the level of effort, and plan out development tasks

What you’ll bring to the table

• 2+ years experience working in a production Javascript or Typescript back-end using a NodeJS framework (or similar technology)
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related degree is an asset
• Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Proficiency with GraphQL is an asset
• Proficiency with ElasticSearch is an asset
• Work experience in API testing and data management
• Passion for defining processes, operating procedures, and precise documentation
• Ability to work within tight deadlines and in often ambiguous environments
